Feburary 2011, a group of Tanta university students between 19-21 years decided to participate in the company program (organized by Injaz Egypt) which encourages young students to start their own company that sell a product or provide a service. As a part of the program, the participants get training and mentorship that qualify them to run a successful company.
Founders started brainstorming ideas to come up with a novel idea of a company with sustainable profits and valuable to the community. Recyclobekia was born, an entrepreneurial company concerned with the collection of electronic waste collection offering green recycling and safe data destruction with refurbishment as a middle process.
Once settled on the idea and management hierarchy, the team started the hard work immediately and succeed to collect large quantity of e-waste and sold it to a green recycling factory. This qualified them to win the biggest prize in the competition and they are in the right route.
The major obstruction was to get the fund in order to go further on the idea so, they have decided to join “Start with Google” competition. Despite being the youngest team among the competitors, they have reached the final stage with other 19 companies out from 4000.
Now, after getting the necessary fund from private investment, Recyclobekia works to expand its business to provide the service to the largest number of clients and to spread the culture of recycling.
